FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are Support Contracts mandatory? Yes, a support contract is required for the first year.   The enhancement contract includes updates (fixes/minor enhancements) and upgrades (feature changes) for one year.  The Support contract includes phone/email support as well as updates and upgrades for one year.  More information on Contracts

Does the link impact the licenses of Great Plains? No.  When you enter orders, lookup info, add customers, synchronize in real-time, Linked Systems 2007 reads/writes to Great Plains tables directly and does not need the Great Plains application at all. If you wish to enter orders into Great Plains SOP Trx Entry directly - meaning that you wish to actually use the Great Plains screens to enter an order, it WILL take up a user count (if you have Great Plains application running, it takes up a license). The only reason you would choose to enter orders directly through the Great Plains SOP Trx Entry is a) you have a 3rd party product that works directly with that window, b) your users are already used to that interface, c) you need to use vba/dexterity customizations.

Do I need any special Great Plains modules/licenses?  Yes, you need the Sales Order Processing Module and Receivables module.. more info

How is a user counted? Real-Time User License Pricing is for concurrent user licenses of Linked Systems 2007.  The product is sold per user. 

Do I have to match the user counts of my CRM/Accounting system? No, not if you purchase real-time licenses ($300/user). Users counts for Linked Systems 2007 do not have to match the user counts of Great Plains or ACT !/GoldMine.  For example you could use a 3 user Great Plains, with a 5 user ACT! and a 5 user version of Linked Systems 2007.  Synchronization Only licenses are sold based on the number of ACT!/GoldMine/Clientele licenses you own and must match your CRM system's user cournt.

Does Linked Systems 2007 include QuoteWerks, ACT!, GoldMine, SQL licenses or anything else? No.   The pricing for Linked Systems 2007 solution does NOT include the price of GoldMine, Great Plains, Pervasive.sql or Microsoft SQL which must be purchased separately.    Linked Systems 2007 will impact the user licenses of your Pervasive.sql or Microsoft SQL database - this is not included in the price of Linked Systems 2007.
