Linked Systems Update Center



Every time QuoteWerks, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Goldmine, ACT! or Connectwise releases a major update, you may be required to install a compatibility update from Linked Systems to use the new version of that software. In addition, we publish feature upgrades on a regular basis that include new features which are included with your support contract.   Linked Systems users are entitled to updates and feature upgrades with their paid Linked Systems' support contract renewal.   This support contract also entitles Linked Systems users to phone and email support.

1. INSTALL QUOTEWERKS OR DYNAMICS UPDATE FIRST : you will need to update QuoteWerks to version 5 first or if you are updating Dynamics, install the Dynamics update first before you update Linked Systems.
2. USERS MUST EXIT LINKED SYSTEMS : All users should exit Linked Systems Order synch (ls_synch.exe), Printing app (ls_report.exe), Quote checker (ls_valid.exe) and any other application launched from the Linked Systems\program folder.
3. FIND LINKED SYSTEMS FOLDER : Locate your Linked Systems application folder. It is usually located under the Quotewerks application folder. If you need assistance locating that folder, please email us at support@linkedsystems.com
4. BACKUP YOUR PREVIOUS VERSION : Rename the ls_synch.exe file in your linkedsystems\program folder to "ls_synch_123014.exe" (or whatever today's date is).  Do the same thing with the ls_report.exe file (if it exists).
5. DOWNLOAD UPDATED FILES : Open your internet browser and download the following files. These files need to be saved to a particular linkedsystems\program folder but you can download the files to the desktop first and then copy them over if necessary. Download these 3 files to your linkedsystems\program folder

6. RUN DATABASE UPDATER : Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your linkedsystems\program folder. Launch ls_updateDB.exe (not ls_update .exe). This program will update your linked systems sql database to the latest version.
